We've got this big blow-up pool from Target (we're super-high class around here) that I've been a slacker with setting up (I just don't want to deal with any of the maintenance or have the liability, you know?)...so we've been making do with running through sprinklers to cool off and have some fun in the summer heat. It seemed to be adequate until the other day when we had Cate over to play. My mouth dropped open as Kennedy came to confide in me: "but we don't have a big pool like Cate's" and seemed self-conscious, embarrassed, and upset with our lack of material things. Is it possible that she's old enough to begin comparing and caring about those sorts of things? Oh no!

"Put the sprinkler on the lawn...run through with my gym shorts on" (BNL). These pics make me want to join in.
