The Polynesian Cultural Center

Since poor little Noelle had somehow managed to fly herself out here, we decided to treat her to the coolest "native experience" on the island: the P.C.C. It was so awesome!!! We could seriously have spent a week exploring that place!
She & Kennedy learning to basket weave in the Samoan Village:
A shot of Kennedy's tattoo from the village of Fiji (there was a quick rainstorm that threatened to melt all traces of it!)
Our favorite part of all the shows & presentations was this guy--he was hilarious. Showed us how to make fire & also how to crack open & get the milk from a coconut.
A cute little tree-climbin' guy
Noelle got some shots of me...used to being behind the camera, not in front.
Turns out Kennedy looked WAY cuter in my sun hat. Shocker!
The Canoe Show is one you can't miss...each island is represented with amazing dancers/singers/performers...
Here's Tonga:
Hawaii (yay for our island!)
Tahiti
New Zealand (Aotearoa)
Samoa
& Fiji
Kennedy thoroughly enjoyed the show (& a few skittles)
Each village had cool exhibits & presentations...of course we're biased, but Hawaii's was definitely the best one:
Kennedy was a trooper, but by the last few hours she was ready to be "done with shows."
The Luau was last; of course they'd been roasting a huge pig for us...Kennedy wasn't sure how she felt about that (caught her playing an imaginary game later where she was "saving the pigs from getting cooked!")
Kennedy & Noelle at the Luau. Poor K was a bit of a zombie until she got some food in her.
Wow, what a difference a good camera can make...or not make! (sorry Noey, hopefully we can pass a nicer one down to you some day!)
There was just too much to see in one day (& they let you come back for free within 3 days), so Noelle & I went back a couple days later.
Here she is learning a Tahitian dance...
She also got to catch the canoe tour (didn't want to inflict Schaffer or our stroller on them!)
A shot of her floating along...it's just so beautiful there!
Definitely worth the splurge! Note to future visitors/family: want to have us take you/accompany you? Then you get to fill our gas tank & buy our tickets! Heh heh. Having Noelle & my Mom visit us these last few weeks (& having them "let us pay for everything") has completely "broked" us!!! Heh heh. They're so worth it though!

Aw, Trace, you're the best. I was afraid I'd take advantage of your generosity! Should've hosted more Salad Creation nights... mmmm.
Well, I hereby promise you- someday this leech of a sister is going to make it up to you! Just not sure when... or how... :)
