We feel very blessed in meeting/making good friends everywhere we're stationed, and Hawaii's no exception. Sometimes they're great friends like our wonderful neighbors, the Whitakers. They have two perfect children (seriously, "pahhh-er-fect") and Kennedy begs to play with them with every minute of every day...for realsies.
Yeah, she gets excited around them, and we're obviously still working to help her understand and stay out of others' personal space! She seems to follow Daniel around like a puppy, and it's surprising how easy-going he is despite her constantly being right in his face. She likes to recall the tale of how he called her his "first girlfriend" (apparently there are many others!), much to poor Adam's dismay! : ) Ali is the oldest of the bunch, but she's just the sweetest most compassionate child...the more they're both around to influence our girl, the better.
Their favorite activity is of course jumping on the trampoline, and who can blame them? I've been known to get out with them occasionally which is a big hit (I'm telling you, these kids are easy to please when it comes to entertainment).
Ahh, the trampoline (may we never have to put one of these together ever again!) It's both a blessing and a curse. We moms love to have them out active and happy in the fresh island air, while still remaining close and safe. It's great for baby naps, laundry-doing, and general cleaning and organizing. However, it also seems to create a few situations with all the jumping and bumping around...
Last week Kennedy somehow managed to flip out and through the open zipper of the net onto her head on the cement lanai. We had her checked out at the E.R. but she escaped with only a mild concussion. Now she's apt to hurt her friends feelings letting them know they need to watch out for her head...poor Ali!
But jumping's not all they do...
Yesterday I was invited next door for the hottest fashion show on the island. Don't you just love Kennedy's over-sized sparkly shoes and the matching purses? Kind of unsettling the way they hold their little "doggie accessories" like little "socialites!"
Ali's obviously had more experience and practice, whereas Kennedy was apt to be a little shy.
Of course they got rave reviews from the judges/moms. Quite entertaining.

I'm so jealous! No wonder you never want to hang out with us:) You have fabulous friends right next door! You're so lucky. I wish Brooklyn had a little friend her age in our neighborhood {sigh}. They are so cute with their little fashion show:)
